October 2021 - The Goodness Report

Hope you are blessed by the October 2021 report!

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

Galatians 6:9 NIV

Having Faith Through Hard Times

I don’t know about you but we’ve had some days recently where we have felt a bit weary.

In July, Bill was up in Canada and felt some discomfort in his chest. The doctors initially thought he had a heart attack. But after a long visit to the ER in Canada, Cardiologist visits back in the U.S., and more tests to assess his health, the good news is he has no major blockages and was quickly back to full strength.

In early September, we returned to Canada hoping for a more restful trip! But the day we arrived, Bill experienced severe back pain. After a few days, we realized he had more symptoms and they were consistent with COVID-19.

Not wanting to return to the hospital where he was isolated back in July, Bill quarantined at our cottage instead, though he did not improve.

By the time he made it back home to Texas after 12 days of chills and fever, I took him straight to the hospital because he was having difficulty breathing.

They did X-rays to see if he had pneumonia and then sent him home with medication. They couldn’t admit him because they didn’t have enough nurses on hand! This was the sickest Bill had ever been.

Exhausted and Frustrated!

After three weeks of providing ongoing care, I began to get weary while still tending to the ministry and to our family. Admittedly, we were both exhausted and frustrated!

Praise God, because a combination of rest, medicine, and lots of prayers resulted in complete recovery for  Bill. Though God certainly used this time and trial to strengthen us and focus us on the importance of our physical health.

Maybe you too are experiencing a difficult season right now.  Maybe you are facing health or emotional challenges, or maybe the weight of the confusion and challenges in our world is heavy on your heart. Just remember that you can trust the Lord with your life and with the assurance of harvest and blessing IN HIS TIMING.

We pray the Lord will bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you in these times.

Despite a season of challenge for Bill and I, the work of The Goodness Project has continued to advance. We attribute this growth and perseverance to our amazing staff and volunteers. So many people jumped in to help when we needed them the most.

As you know, The Goodness Project has outreaches in four cities in North America and is an ongoing effort in Israel. Each location is continuing to help children and families in crisis while supporting other local nonprofit organizations.

Desperately Needed Resources

With your help, we were able to send desperately needed resources to LaPlace, Louisiana after Hurricane Ida struck that area on September 3rd. You can read more about each of these efforts below.

Your faithful prayers and financial support are crucial right now.  Would you please pray about becoming a monthly partner or giving a year-end gift to support The Goodness Project? Your giving will bring a harvest of blessings to many who are in need!

See the updates below by each TGP location of God’s Goodness being spread around the globe in Dallas, Buffalo, Nashville, Canada, and Israel. You’ll also hear how the goodness of God is being given a voice through the show, Goodness Speaks.

In His Goodness,
