The Goodness Report - November 2020

The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame.  You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

Isaiah 58:11

This promise comes with a caveat.  You can and will see the goodness of the Lord in this way, if you follow the directions in Isaiah 58:6-9 to loose the chains of injustice, untie those bound to the law, set captives free, break every bondage, share your food with the hungry, provide shelter for the poor wanderer, clothe people and not turn your back on your family.  If you do then you can count on these verses and more because you are literally loosing the chains of injustice and untying the cords of the yoke to set the oppressed free when you give!

Isaiah 58:8-9 says then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. Then you will call, and the Lord will answer.

Privilege is preceded by responsibility and I’m so proud that you’re committed to living a life that lives out Isaiah 58 so you can experience the goodness of God for yourself as you see His goodness shared with others!

UPCOMING THANKSGIVING EVENTS

The need to feed more and more families is increasing. As the holidays approach, there are more families who will reach out to us and to our partners to help with food and toys for Christmas.

We’re partnering with churches and organizations to bless their groups.  On November 21st, we’re helping Gateway Church with a Thanksgiving outreach to serve 300 families and our other partners are serving another 125 families by providing Turkey Dinners. All of this is thanks to your generous support and volunteer work!.

Powerful Partnerships

Nashville

The Goodness Project was able to donate 1000 frozen chickens and propel drinks to help feed families in the Nashville area through Elijah’s Heart ministries. They’re committed to serving children and families buried under the oppression of poverty in Nashville and have been a faithful partner bringing volunteers to serve and strategizing with us about ways to bring city transformation and end poverty uniting with us to show mercy and practical love to our neighbors.

Nashville already has 25 nonprofit partners and we haven’t even opened the resource center area yet! We can’t wait to see what God is going to do.

Please join us if you’re in the area!

Great Growth

Since the Buffalo resource center has opened it’s doors on October 24, 2019, this Goodness Project location hasn’t stopped expanding and growing to accommodate the needs represented in the area.  Recently, and additional 10,000 square feet of resource area has been added to better serve the non-profits in the Buffalo area. Angie and the team have been hard at work getting it ready in time for Christmas celebrations.

Here are pictures of the newly expanded resource center, showing the variety of products we’re now able to offer.

Reaching Bill’s Home Country

Our Canadian location is close to Bill’s heart.  Meeting the needs of the less fortunate in his home country is a passion the Lord has continually drawn him back to. The expansion in our Canadian operations has been rapidly growing.  The new resource-center style of operations was just started a few weeks ago and already 37 churches and non-profit organizations have partnered with The Goodness Project to meet the needs of their people.

Israel

Honored In Jerusalem

Covid has been wreaking havoc on families in Israel with some 1.6 million suffering from acute emotional distress as they’ve recently come out of a second lockdown. Our teams on the ground continue to connect holocaust survivors with the children who face threats every day,

Israel Holocaust Survivors

One method we’re using is through multi-generational connection. We have psychologists and educators testing and studying how to use the toys as therapy. Toy distribution is bringing people together and helping to strengthen this multi-generational connection.

Israel Holocaust Survivors Woman with doll

One of the Holocaust survivors received a red-headed doll. She spoke of her times in the concentration camps when she had to hide. It reminded her of the doll she had as she ran for cover as a child. She asked if she could keep the doll as a reminder. God is working to bring healing to the deep trauma wounds of the people in Israel, young and old.

For our effects to meet the needs in Israel, The Goodness Project has been honored by the Mayor of Jerusalem. You can watch his video below.
